Hastelloy C276 — The Broadest Corrosion Immunity Available
Hastelloy C276 (UNS N10276) contains 14.5–16.5% chromium, 15–17% molybdenum — the highest Mo content in the commercial Ni-Cr-Mo alloy family — and 3–4.5% tungsten. This composition provides the broadest single-alloy corrosion resistance available: excellent performance in both oxidising and reducing acid media, seawater, chlorinated solvents, and organic acids. Where C22 has superior pitting resistance in pure oxidising chloride, and Hastelloy B3 has superior performance in purely reducing HCl — C276 is the engineer’s choice for mixed or uncertain media where the service fluid switches between oxidising and reducing states.
For threaded rods specifically, C276 is preferred over stainless or titanium in chemical plant hanger systems, process equipment support tie-rods, and equipment rack fastening in mixed acid environments. The full thread profile allows the rod to be cut to any length and connected at any point with C276 coupling nuts and hex nuts — creating an infinitely adjustable, corrosion-immune threaded assembly without custom machining. Standard 1,000mm and 2,000mm stocks, cut to length to 3,000mm.
Compared with our Hastelloy C22 stud bolts (superior in oxidising chloride) and Hastelloy B3 stud bolts (superior in reducing HCl) — C276 threaded rods cover the broadest range without requiring media-specific alloy selection.

Hastelloy C276 Threaded Rod Types
All types machined from ASTM B574 certified UNS N10276 solution-annealed bar. PMI-verified before production. Cut to length from 1,000mm and 2,000mm stock, or custom to 3,000mm.
Standard Threaded Rod
Full thread along the entire length — the standard Hastelloy C276 threaded rod form. DIN 975 defines the thread form, tolerance, and cross-section for M6–M100 metric coarse pitch. Available in 1,000mm and 2,000mm stock lengths. Cut to any length required. The basis for all hanger, tie-rod, and extension bolt applications. Supply with C276 hex nuts and coupling nuts.
End-Threaded Rod (Stud Rod)
DIN 976 — threaded only on both ends with a plain unthreaded shank between. Used where the rod must pass through a bearing or seal, where thread contact with the surrounding structure must be avoided, or where a defined shank length is required for load distribution calculation. M12–M100. Custom shank lengths on request.
Cut-to-Length Rods
Standard stock cut to exact project specification — 50mm to 3,000mm. Both ends chamfered and thread-verified after cutting. Lead threads re-chased if cut mid-thread. Rod & Coupling Nut Sets
Hastelloy C276 threaded rods supplied with matched C276 coupling nuts (DIN 6334) — for extending rod length or joining two rods end-to-end in long hanger systems and structural equipment supports in chemical plant environments. The coupling nut must be C276 to maintain galvanic compatibility with the rod in corrosive media. All from same ASTM B574 certified heat.
Inch Thread Rods
Hastelloy C276 threaded rods in UNC (coarse) and UNF (fine) thread per ASME B1.1. ¼”–4″ diameter, 36″ (914mm) and 72″ (1,829mm) standard lengths, cut to length on request. For US chemical plant, offshore, and pharmaceutical projects specified in imperial dimensions. Same UNS N10276 ASTM B574 certified material, full MTC and PMI.
