Akbar Fasteners Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai — ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturer and exporter of bolts, nuts, and stud bolts across the material grades that actually matter to specific industries. The same bolt shape can be cut in a dozen different materials, but the environment it goes into — sour gas, seawater, sustained heat, sterile process fluid, structural fatigue — is what actually determines which one survives. This page maps our core industries to the grades we most often supply into them, so you can start from your application rather than a materials catalogue.

What Determines Fastener Applications By Industry

A fastener’s job is always the same — clamp two parts together — but the conditions it has to survive while doing that job vary enormously across industries, and that variation is what actually drives material selection. Four factors dominate almost every real specification decision: temperature (both sustained service temperature and the extremes it might briefly see), corrosive exposure (chlorides, acids, sour gas, seawater), mechanical load (static versus cyclic, vibration, shock), and regulatory or code requirement (NACE sour service qualification, aerospace traceability, food-grade hygiene standards).

Two industries with superficially similar-looking bolted joints can require completely different materials once you factor in the actual service condition. A flanged joint in a food processing plant and a flanged joint in an offshore sour gas platform might use the same nominal bolt size, but one is chosen for hygienic corrosion resistance and cleanability, the other for sulfide stress cracking resistance under NACE MR0175 — and supplying the wrong one isn’t a cosmetic mismatch, it’s a joint that can fail in exactly the condition it was meant to survive.

Akbar Fasteners Pvt. Ltd. exports to over 50 countries across these industries, and every material grade we manufacture — from standard carbon steel through to Hastelloy and titanium — is backed by the same ISO 9001:2015 quality system and full mill test documentation, regardless of which industry the order is going into.

Why Buyers Choose Akbar Fasteners Across Industries

One Supplier Across Every Application

Application-First Material Guidance

We start from the environment and load the fastener will actually see, not from whichever grade happens to be in stock.

Every Grade Under One Quality System

Carbon steel through nickel alloy and titanium, all manufactured and documented under the same ISO 9001:2015 process.

Code & Standard Familiarity

NACE MR0175, ASME B16.5, ISO 898-1, and other industry-specific standards factored in before quoting, not after.

Mixed-Industry Order Consolidation

Multiple grades and industries combined into a single shipment and export document set where projects span sectors.

The Real Question Buyers Ask

Which Grade Fits Which Environment

Rather than starting from a material name, most buyers are better served starting from the actual condition their fastener has to survive. The table below maps the environment to the grade family we most commonly supply for it — a starting point for narrowing the choice before we confirm the exact grade against your drawing.
