Mumbai · India

Akbar Fasteners Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai — ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturer and exporter of bolts, nuts, studs, and washers to Kazakhstan, in carbon steel, stainless steel, and exotic alloys. Kazakhstan’s major oil fields and significant mining sector — including some of the world’s largest uranium reserves — call for reliable, high-strength fastening. As Kazakhstan is landlocked, we route shipments via the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC) — a genuinely multi-modal route covered in detail below, alongside a note on low-temperature material considerations for Kazakhstan’s continental climate.

A Genuine Material Fit for Kazakhstan’s Resource Industries

Why Kazakhstan and Indian Fastener Supply Fit Well Together

Kazakhstan holds substantial oil reserves, with major fields driving significant pipeline, refinery, and process equipment fastening demand, alongside a genuinely significant mining sector — Kazakhstan is among the world’s largest producers of uranium, alongside chromium and other minerals. Both sectors call for reliable, high-strength fastening, with oil and gas process equipment specifically demanding the corrosion resistance our stainless and exotic alloy range provides.

Getting fasteners to Kazakhstan is genuinely more involved than to a coastal destination — as a landlocked country deep in Central Asia, shipments typically route via the International North-South Transport Corridor, a real, established multi-modal sea-rail-sea route developed specifically to connect India with Russia and Central Asian markets — covered in full detail below.

Akbar Fasteners Pvt. Ltd. exports to over 50 countries, and our exotic alloy range, combined with practical experience planning multi-modal routing, makes for a reliable supply relationship for Kazakhstan’s demanding resource-sector fastening needs.

Four Reasons International Buyers Source Fasteners From India

Why Source From Akbar Fasteners for Kazakhstan

01

Full Exotic Alloy Range for Oil & Gas

Super duplex, SMO 254, and Hastelloy B-3 are available for the range of corrosion resistance requirements oil and gas process equipment typically demands.

02

High-Tensile Range for Mining Equipment

Heavy hex bolts and Grade 8.8/10.9 steel support the vibration and impact-loaded fastening mining and mineral processing equipment requires.

03

Practical INSTC Route Planning Experience

We plan Kazakhstan-bound shipments with the specific multi-modal INSTC routing and documentation requirements in mind from the outset.

04

Honest Guidance on Low-Temperature Material Selection

Where Kazakhstan’s continental climate genuinely affects material choice, we’re glad to discuss it directly rather than leaving it unaddressed.

A Genuinely Multi-Modal Route, Not a Single Transit Leg

How Shipments Reach Kazakhstan — the INSTC Route

Kazakhstan has no direct sea access, and reaching it from India involves a genuinely more involved route than shipping to a landlocked country with a single coastal transit port. The most established option is the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC) — a multi-modal sea, rail, and sea route developed specifically to connect India with Russia and Central Asian markets, including Kazakhstan, as an alternative to the much longer all-water route around Europe.

A typical INSTC shipment moves in three distinct stages: ocean freight from Nhava Sheva to an Iranian port (commonly Bandar Abbas), rail transport across Iran to a Caspian Sea port such as Bandar Anzali, and finally a Caspian Sea crossing to Aktau, Kazakhstan’s principal Caspian port, with onward rail or road transport to the final destination within Kazakhstan.

This genuinely three-stage journey means total transit time and documentation requirements are more involved than a single-transit-port shipment, and we provide a realistic, current estimate for the complete door-to-door journey at the quotation stage — accounting for all three legs rather than only the initial ocean freight portion. We work with freight partners experienced in this specific corridor and are glad to walk through routing and documentation in detail when planning a shipment.

An Honest Note on Kazakhstan’s Continental Climate

Low-Temperature Toughness — Worth Discussing, Not Assuming

Kazakhstan’s continental climate brings genuinely severe winter temperatures across much of the country, and equipment installed outdoors — pipeline valves, structural connections, exposed process equipment — can be exposed to sustained deep cold for extended periods. Some steel grades and microstructures genuinely lose toughness at low temperature, a real metallurgical phenomenon sometimes called the ductile-to-brittle transition, where a material that behaves in a tough, ductile manner at normal temperature can become comparatively brittle in sufficiently cold conditions.

This is not a reason to assume every fastener needs special low-temperature specification — many standard carbon and alloy steel grades perform entirely adequately in cold climates, and the actual exposure temperature, application, and consequence of failure all matter to whether special low-temperature toughness verification is genuinely warranted.

Where it is warranted, low-temperature impact testing (such as Charpy V-notch testing at a specified sub-zero temperature) can confirm a material’s toughness at the actual service condition rather than leaving it to assumption. We’re glad to discuss whether a specific Kazakhstan application genuinely calls for this kind of verification, and can arrange NABL-accredited low-temperature testing where it’s warranted.

Standard Terms We Work With

Export Terms — FOB, CFR, and CIF

Choose the term that matches how your organisation typically manages freight, insurance, and the multi-modal INSTC leg.

FOB — Free On Board

FOB Nhava Sheva

We deliver goods on board the vessel at Nhava Sheva port. You arrange the full onward INSTC routing — the standard choice when you have an established freight forwarder for this specific corridor.

CFR — Cost and Freight

CFR Aktau

We arrange and pay for freight across the full INSTC route to Aktau. You arrange insurance separately — useful where you already have an established insurer for this corridor.

CIF — Cost, Insurance & Freight

CIF Aktau

We arrange and pay for both freight across the full INSTC route and cargo insurance to Aktau — the simplest option when you prefer a single, all-inclusive landed cost figure.
