ASTM F467 is genuinely different from most fastener grade standards on our site — rather than defining one specific alloy composition, it’s an umbrella specification for internally threaded nickel alloy nuts, covering a range of distinct nickel-based material families that share little chemically beyond a nickel base. Each family within F467 exists to solve a genuinely different corrosive or high-temperature challenge.
Monel 400 (nickel-copper) resists hydrofluoric acid and seawater corrosion through a mechanism distinct from any chromium-based stainless alloy. Inconel 600 and 625 (nickel-chromium, with molybdenum and niobium in 625) provide genuine oxidation and corrosion resistance at very high sustained temperatures. Incoloy 800 and 825 (nickel-iron-chromium) balance high-temperature strength with broader general corrosion resistance. Hastelloy grades like B-2, B-3, and C-276 are engineered around specific reducing or oxidizing acid resistance depending on their exact molybdenum, chromium, and tungsten balance — we already cover Hastelloy B-3 in detail elsewhere on our site.

Because F467 spans multiple genuinely different nickel alloy families — each with its own composition and its own specific corrosion or temperature mechanism — please confirm the exact alloy (Monel 400, Inconel 600/625, Incoloy 800/825, Hastelloy B-2/B-3/C-276, or another) along with your governing project specification or drawing callout.
