Forged Pipe
Why Boring Genuinely Escapes Piercing Limits
Our seamless pipe range is made via rotary piercing — a heated round billet pierced through by a mandrel in one continuous hot-working mill operation, producing long-length pipe with a wall thickness that’s a genuinely limited proportion of the diameter, since mills are optimized for a certain wall-to-diameter ratio range. Forged pipe is genuinely different: it starts as a solid forged block that is then bored, or trepanned, out afterward to create the bore, rather than pierced through by a mandrel during the primary hot-working step. Forging and bore-creation are two genuinely separate operations here, not one continuous piercing action.
This two-step process creates a real, distinct capability beyond what seamless piercing mills can achieve. Because a forged pipe’s bore is created afterward by boring rather than during rotary piercing, it is not constrained by a piercing mill’s wall-to-diameter ratio limits. This genuinely allows forged pipe to be produced with an extremely thick wall relative to its bore diameter — a very heavy wall-to-bore ratio — that a seamless rotary-piercing mill genuinely cannot achieve, since piercing mills need a minimum bore-to-wall proportion to pierce through cleanly at all. Forged pipe is therefore the genuine solution specifically for extra-heavy-wall, large-diameter, relatively short-length cylindrical sections that seamless mills simply cannot produce.
A genuine, honest limitation is worth stating plainly. Because forged pipe is produced from a solid forged block that must then be bored out afterward — a slow, material-removing machining step on top of the forging itself — it is genuinely not economical or practical for long, continuous pipe runs the way a seamless mill’s continuous hot-working process is. Seamless mills can produce long lengths efficiently in a single continuous operation, while forged pipe is genuinely limited to comparatively short lengths — piece parts, not running pipe. Forged pipe is a deliberate choice specifically for heavy-wall short sections, like a nozzle course or a heavy reducer blank, not a substitute for long-run seamless pipe in a piping system.
Akbar Fasteners Pvt. Ltd. exports to over 50 countries, and our forged pipe range is manufactured and verified for bore concentricity and wall thickness compliance under our ISO 9001:2015 quality system.
A Note on Confirming Wall-to-Bore Ratio & Required Length
Please confirm your required wall thickness relative to bore diameter, and the piece length needed, when requesting a quote — this determines whether forged pipe or seamless pipe genuinely fits.

We verify wall thickness genuinely meets extra-heavy specifications.
Forged vs Seamless Guidance
We advise honestly when seamless pipe genuinely suits your length need better.
Bore Concentricity Checking
We confirm bore concentricity genuinely meets your tolerance.
Verified Dimensions & Mechanicals
Batch testing confirms genuine wall thickness and bore compliance for every piece.
Forged Pipe vs Seamless Pipe — Quick Reference
Confirming whether your section genuinely needs an extra-heavy wall beyond piercing limits, or standard seamless pipe covers your ratio and length. This table is the quick reference we use with buyers before quoting.
| Aspect | Forged Pipe | Seamless Pipe |
|---|---|---|
| Bore Creation | Genuinely bored afterward, separate step | Pierced through by a mandrel |
| Wall-to-Bore Ratio | Genuinely no piercing-mill limit | Limited by mill capability |
| Available Length | Genuinely short, piece parts | Genuinely long, continuous runs |
