Why an Internal Hex, Not an External Wrench
An external hex head needs open space around it for a wrench or socket to fit — space that a counterbored hole, a recessed pocket, or a tightly clustered fastener pattern simply doesn’t provide. A socket-drive fastener solves that directly: the entire drive mechanism sits inside the fastener’s own head or body, recessed flush or even below the surrounding surface, needing nothing more than a straight-in Allen key with no side clearance required at all.
That internal geometry also happens to transfer torque more efficiently for its size than most external drive styles, which is why socket head cap screws in particular are the standard choice wherever high clamping force is needed from a compact fastener — precision machine tooling, jig and fixture work, and defense equipment assembly where both space and load capacity matter simultaneously.
Akbar Fasteners Pvt. Ltd. exports to over 50 countries, and our socket-drive fastener range spans cap screws, set screws, and shoulder screws, verified by torque and dimensional testing under our ISO 9001:2015 quality system.
Where This Family Genuinely Applies
Works in Tight, Recessed Spaces
Needs only straight-in tool access, no side wrench clearance around the fastener head.
Efficient Torque-to-Size Ratio
Internal hex geometry transfers high clamping force from a compact fastener footprint.
Clean, Flush Finished Surface
Recessed installation keeps the surrounding surface clean and free of protruding hardware.
Verified Torque & Dimensional Precision
Batch testing confirms genuine socket fit and torque capacity, not just correct thread engagement.

Each socket fastener type solves a genuinely different mechanical problem. This table is the quick reference we use with buyers before quoting.
| Aspect | Cap Screw | Set Screw | Shoulder Screw |
|---|---|---|---|
| Primary Function | Clamping two parts together | Locking a component to a shaft | Acting as a precision pivot |
| Head Style | Cylindrical head, threaded shank | Headless, fully threaded | Head plus unthreaded ground shoulder |
| Typical Use | Machine assembly, tensioned joints | Collar or gear shaft locking | Bearing or linkage pivot points |
